Do I need council approval to remove a tree in the Adelaide Hills?
It all depends on the tree. Adelaide Hills Council has specific rules around regulated and significant trees, particularly native species. As the landowner, it's your responsibility to seek council approval where required — but we can guide you through the process and advise whether your tree is likely to need a permit. We will be offering full recognized arborist reports soon as part of that service.

Absolutely! Full site clean-up is included with every job. We mulch all the green waste and remove all the wood — you won't be left with a pile of branches on your lawn. If you'd like the timber kept for firewood, just let us know.
Can you help with an emergency — like a fallen or dangerous tree?

Every job is different — size, access, species, and what needs to happen to the debris all factor in. What's the difference between pruning and lopping?
Pruning is the selective removal of branches to improve a tree's health, shape, and structure — done properly by an arborist. Lopping is a more general term for cutting back branches, often used for clearance or hazard reduction. We do both, and we'll tell you honestly which approach suits your tree and situation.
Do I need stump grinding, or can I just leave the stump?
You can leave it, but most people regret it. Stumps are a trip hazard, attract termites and other pests, and can continue sending up shoots for years. Stump grinding removes it completely — ground down below surface level so you can turf, pave, or replant over it. We tidy up the grindings too.
Are there protected or significant trees in Adelaide Hills I need to know about?
Yes — Adelaide Hills Council has a Significant Tree Register and native vegetation overlays that can apply to certain species and properties. If you're not sure whether your tree is protected, we can assess it and let you know before any work begins. This is especially relevant for older, large-canopy native trees. When in doubt, ask us first — it's free!
